If all goes well (as in we get our visas back!), within the next week we’ll be headed to France. We are excited about our trip and the amazing experiences we believe it will afford us. We’ll see new sights, meet new people and experience new cultures. I’m sure we’ll also gain new appreciation for the freedoms and opportunities of our home country–the United States of America.

We took a quick trip to New York yesterday and there were so many reminders of how lucky we are and of the men and women who have fought and died in the name of freedom. Sitting in the shadow of the Freedom Tower and seeing all the men and women in uniform strolling the streets of the city for Fleet Week, I felt thankful for having been born and raised in a great country.

So on this Memorial Day, I dedicate my post to our military heroes and all who continue to serve our Nation. Thank you and God bless.
