Prayers for Paris

We woke this morning like it was any other Saturday morning. After sleeping in a bit and exchanging good morning kisses, we grabbed our phones to check for anything we missed last night. Life in the “always connected” world.

What we saw shocked us. Messages had come in throughout the night on Facebook, email, text and WhatsApp as friends and family begged to know we were safe after the terrorist attacks in Paris the previous night.

We immediately turned on the news and the horror of what happened the night before began unfolding before our eyes. Shock. Sadness. Disbelief. A wave of emotions overtook us both. We couldn’t believe attacks had been made in this country that has been our home for the past five months.

Expat life is exciting and full of much joy and wonder. It also implants new countries and cities in your heart as you learn to call them home.

Today we join France in a national day of mourning for the victims who needlessly lost their lives in the attack on our country. France, we love you. Paris, we are praying for you.
